BIZ QUIZ: Which entrepreneurial phase are you in right now?

BIZ QUIZ: Which entrepreneurial phase are you in right now?
thebizzybuzz.com Guest Contributor

Are you in the start-up phase? If so, this is likely your first year in business and you’re laser focused on getting everything (website, e-zine, social media, list building) up and running so you can get some visibility and some clients.

Are you in “up and comer” mode? This is typically somewhere between the 2nd and 5th year of business…you’re energy and resources need to go toward growth – growing your programs, client list, prospect list. GROWTH, GROWTH, GROWTH.

Are you in the expansion phase with a growing staff, and a GROWING client list? It’s not easy but you’re probably having more fun and making more money than ever…You’re focus needs to be on following the opportunities that will bring you the most joy and saying NO more often than you ever have before.

Why the test?

It’s not what you think.

I wanted to demonstrate a powerful copywriting technique…

SELF-SELECTION.

Self-selection increases readership.

After you chose which phase you were in, I bet you were curious as to what solutions I might offer to the challenges you face in your particular business phase.

Pretty cool, right? Self-selection is a great way to build a connection.

If I’ve gotten the three phases above right, you feel like you belong in one of those groups and you feel like I “get” you.

You can do this with your prospects too! And I’d suggest you do it on the home page of your website. Maybe you only have two types of ideal customers instead of three. Then just provide two self-selection options.

Maybe you have only one target customer. EVEN BETTER!

That’ll give you even more space for spelling out the challenges they’re probably facing.
