Warning: Do You Have This?
April 26, 2013 | Melissa Ramos
In the past, as an entrepreneur, I found myself obsessing: my patient success rate, numbers, hits, sales, exposure, ideas, videos, shit I didn't get through my to-do list, wait, I have to finish this – my pee can wait and so can most social obligations. Would this be the disorder business owners face? Let's just call this businessorexia.

Shedding Emotional Weight

It was 2005, I had a corner office, managed multi-million dollar accounts, had a toothbrush, deodorant, and a protein bar in my drawer and, luckily, I was a stone throw away from the coffee machine.

When Being A Woman Isn’t Easy…
December 28, 2012 | Melissa RamosWhen Being A Woman Isn’t Easy
It’s 8am and a hot water bottle has just become my new best friend, soothing my cold little belly that is dying of cramps. So I’ve decided to bring my laptop into bed with me and type this entry. But truthfully, the only thing I want to do is eat chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate.

How To Become A Green SUPERWOMAN!
March 21, 2012 | Melissa Ramos | 2 CommentsThe Emotional Eating Entrepreneur
February 29, 2012 | Melissa RamosSometimes I doubt myself and feel scared. Scared to live authentically, or to take a leap because I might fail…….or succeed.
To get over this fear many of us will numb ourselves with sugar or salt-saturated foods or for some, alcohol. Being a woman entrepreneur takes some pretty hard ovaries to get through the highs and lows, so here are several things you can do to stop numbing and living to your highest, sexy entrepreneurial potential with food:
The Alkaline Alternative
The Standard American Diet is full of processed, non-living foods that when consumed have an acidic effect on the body. The alternative is whole foods rich in greens and other bright colors of the rainbow. Our bodies thrive on alkalinity: we think clearer, get sick less often, have more energy, and become more in tune with ourselves.
Gluten-Free Lover
Gluten is a protein found in grains such as: wheat, oats, barley, spelt, kamut, and rye. Many people today are allergic to this protein and for most of us gluten tends to slow down the digestive system creating clouded perception and fatigue. Gluten-free grains like quinoa, millet, buckwheat, and rice can help to root us in our innate self and provide clearer thinking all through better digestion.
Chocolate
Yes, I said it, go on and enjoy but remember to go for real cacao that naturally releases endorphins and fuels the heart-mind connection so we can feel nourished to go after our dreams… and not feel guilty because we indulged.
So the next time you feel like you’re not good enough, create an inspirational toolbox that contains food as an integral role to helping you feel better.

Hitting The Off Button On Fatigue
February 8, 2012 | Melissa Ramos | 5 CommentsThe alarm goes off at 7:20am and you’re exhausted. You’d love to reach for the snooze button, but you’ve already hit it twice. You manage to finish your mascara while waiting to get your coffee at the drive thru, but before even getting to work, you get honked at with words that are less than flattering.

Feel Sexy From The Inside Out
January 4, 2012 | Melissa RamosWhen you put on a pair of high heels or a power suit, you know how it makes you feel sexy and empowered? Imagine if your insides could dress up the same and get the same reward? Convenience food is easy, but it’s the equivalent of putting on a pair of falling apart loafers and frumpy sweats.
